FAQs
TMOBILE works right at the main lodge. AT&T and VERIZON will work if you head closer to town. We recommend a backup battery pack for your cell phone. Cell service is surprisingly pretty good at elk camp; most people can get calls and texts out.
We work closely with North Park Processing (Chad and Nick) and they can usually get your elk boned, cut, wrapped, and frozen within a day or two of receiving it. They make a variety of sausages, salami, and smoked sticks. The smoked sticks get done very quickly, and the sausages need to be shipped. We also work closely with Owl Ridge Taxidermy (Tate Follett), Tate picks up at the processor or you can drop it off with him in Laramie. Processing prices can vary greatly depending on what you choose to get done.
Please pack duffle bags no larger than 28 inches in length and 14 inches in width. Most hunters can fit all their gear in two duffle bags and their hunting pack. (Leave boots and sleeping bags out of duffle bags and hunting pack.)
If a hunter shoots an animal and there is blood found, the hunter will not hunt another animal for another 48 hours. This time will be devoted to looking for the wounded animal. Every effort will be made to locate a wounded animal by your guide and available staff, but occasionally they are lost. If an animal is wounded and not recovered immediately, your hunt will stop until your guide/outfitter decide otherwise. We will make every effort possible to retrieve wounded animals before your hunt can continue. Spend a few hours each week practicing to make sure you and your bows/rifles are ready. Practicing shooting from different practical firing positions and in different weather conditions will help considerably in the long run.
Yes, we have generators at camp where you can plug in.
