Red Feather Guides & Outfitters began in 1985 when Arnie and Todd started the business with nothing more than a truck and a trailer. Based in the beautiful high country of North Park, Colorado, near Gould and Walden, they began offering guided big game hunts and horseback riding adventures in some of the most scenic and wildlife-rich country in the Rockies.

Over the years, through hard work and a deep knowledge of the local terrain, they built Red Feather into a respected outfitter known for affordable, high-quality hunting trips and memorable horseback rides. From the early days of elk hunting to the start of Colorado’s moose seasons in the mid-1980s, they helped many hunters experience the unique wilderness of North Park — now widely recognized as the Moose Viewing Capital of Colorado.

In 2017, Ty began working as a guide for Arnie. He quickly fell in love with the area, the clients, and the honest, no-nonsense style of guiding that Red Feather was known for. A few years later, Ty and his wife Danielle purchased the business and took over operations.

Today, Red Feather Guides & Outfitters remains a small, family-run operation. We continue the same traditions that started in 1985: providing reliable guided hunts in Colorado (including elk and North Park moose hunts), semi-guided hunts, drop camps, full-service trips, and scenic North Park horseback riding adventures.

Whether you’re booking a fully guided bull or cow moose hunt, a relaxing 2-hour, half-day, or all-day horseback ride, or renting one of our comfortable cabins as a basecamp, our focus is simple — deliver safe, enjoyable outdoor experiences in the beautiful North Park area while treating every client like family.
